Boronia Travel Centre has been reappointed the "official travel agent" to the Australian War Memorial Battlefields tours and is responsible for all travel arrangements. These tours, now in their 17th year, depart Australia prior to Anzac Day and spend several days in Istanbul prior to departure for the Gallipoli Peninsula. The tours are the most informative and in depth tours available, escorted by Australian War Memorial historians / curators.

We stay two nights in Canakkale, visiting the ruins of ancient Troy before a guided tour of the naval assaults of 1915, including visits to Canakkale forts, gun emplacements and museums. We then cross the Dardanelles back to the peninsula and have six full days, including Anzac Day services, in the battlefields.

The Western Front battlefield tour commences on completion of the Gallipoli tour. Priority is given to those taking both tours, although to date, we have been able to accommodate all requests.

In 2010, the Australian Government will again host an Anzac Day Dawn Service at the Australian National Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, France.

The Australian Government has announced that it is committed to holding an annual Dawn Service at the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux. The Australian War Memorial are going to make the 2010 Tour as memorable as this year’s, with the assistance of their most experienced Western Front guide, Peter Burness.

Due to the huge interest in these tours, they are expected to fill early.

For individual travellers wanting to visit Gallipoli, we can arrange both car hire and coach travel from Istanbul. The coach takes approx. 5 1/2 hours to Eceabat and then a 20 minute transfer to the hotel. The current cost is approx. AUD 25.00. For those wanting to see the major sites of the peninsula properly, we strongly recommend car hire, as there is no public transport available. This can be arranged from either Istanbul or Eceabat.

Alternatively, for those not wanting to drive, we can arrange a limited drop off/pick up service from the hotel, with a picnic lunch. Our agent in Istanbul, KD Tourism & Travel, can assist with all travel arrangements in Turkey.
